Syllabus (or programme)
1.- Concepts and approaches of feminist thought: the concept of gender.
2.- Feminist literary research I: A critical review of the representation of women (of femininity/masculinity) in masculine canonical literature. Deconstruction of sexist discourse and reading strategies.
3. Feminist literary research II: Restoration of the visibility of women writers, a study of their work and insertion into the canon of literary history.- “Feminine writing”: discourse, sexual difference and gender identities.
4.- A brief overview of Spanish women writers from the Middle Ages to the present.- Themes concerning feminism in novelists from the 20th and 21st centuries.
